1:1 Careers Conversations

Our programme of Post-16 and Post-18 Careers Conversations runs weekly throughout the academic year. Pupils and their parents/carers will recieve an email confirming the date, time and location of their meeting. 

Urgent Careers Support

Key Stage 4 Careers Conversations

All pupils in Key Stage 4 will be invited to attend a 1:1 Careers Conversation with a fully qualified Careers Development Professional. This is a excellent opportunity to discuss future choices, explore different pathways and receive tailored, impartial careers guidance. Planning Your Next Steps

Pupils do not need to wait for their scheduled 1:1 meeting before applying for college, university or an apprenticeship. We encourage pupils to research their options and meet application deadlines while seeking guidance whenever needed.

Pupils can also apply for more than one course and to more than one college or university. We encourage everyone to have a Plan A and Plan B for their next steps. Having alternative options is particularly important for students considering apprenticeships, as these can be competitive and vacancies may have different application deadlines. 

The Careers Team is here to help pupils explore their options, make informed decisions and feel confident about their future.

Additional Support for Pupils from Military Families

Additional careers support is available for pupils in Key Stage 4 and Kay Stage 5 through The Forces Employment Charity. The charity provides support for young people from military families to help them explore their options and plan their future careers. 

Key Stage 3 Support with GCSE Choices

1:1 meetings are available for Year 9 pupils who would like additional support with choosing the subjects they will study in Years 10 and 11. 

These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss subject choices, explore future aspirations and consider how GCSE options may relate to students' interests and potential career pathways.
