Careers advice and guidance

1:1 Careers Meetings

Our programme of Post-16 and Post-18 Careers Conversations runs every week throughout the academic year.  Emails are sent to students and parents/carers advising of the date, time and location of the meeting - we ask all students to arrive promptly to maximise the opportunity.

Students wishing to book an urgent meeting with one of our fully qualified and impartial Careers Development Professionals should email careers@kgabayhouse.uk. To learn more about these meetings, and why they are so important, see here.

All students in KS4 and KS5, will be invited to attend a 1:1 meeting to have a Careers Conversation with a fully qualified Careers Development Professional. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to discuss anything related to future choices and to receive tailored and impartial guidance.

To find out what happens at these meetings, watch this video.

Students do not need to wait for their scheduled 1:1 meeting before applying for college, university or an apprenticeship.

Support is on offer with Julia and Amanda at Bay House, and with Sue and Benia for students in the Sixth Form.

Students can apply to more than one course, and more than one college or university. We encourage all students to have a Plan A and Plan B - this is especially important for students looking for an apprenticeship.

KS3 support with GCSE choices

1:1 meetings are available for any student in Year 9 who would like additional support with choosing the subjects to study in Year 10 and 11.

Please see our KS3 information or email to arrange a meeting.
