Help your child with real-life mentors 

Is your child thinking about their future? Whether they're considering apprenticeships or simply exploring options, Ask an Apprentice is here to provide valuable insights. Your child will get advice directly from apprentices who've been where they are - now working with some of the UK's leading employers. From CVs to interviews and finding the right apprenticeship, these experienced apprentices can guide your child through the process and help them stand out. Students can ask questions tailored to their unique situation, these can also be anonymous.

Building success - Wednesday 9 October 4:45pm-6:30pm - Year 11 parents/carers

This will be held at the University of Portsmouth, PO1 3AH. This will be a practical workshop which will cover techniques to help young people and their supporters build exam confidence, reduce stress or burnout. You can explore:

• Preparing for next steps after secondary school

• Practical revision strategies workshop

• Future subject choices with table top activities

Army Apprenticeships - Wednesday 16 October 6pm-7pm

The British Army has been announced as the number 1 Apprenticeship Employer in the UK and Northern Ireland for the fourth year running, offering over 40 different apprenticeships in roles across engineering, medical, intelligence and coms, HR and finance, logistics and support, music, combat and more.

This webinar invites parents and carers to hear from Army colleagues and apprentices to learn more about:

• The range of amazing apprenticeships available

• Training and qualifications

• Progression opportunities available

• Key benefits, such as starting salary of £25,000+, travel opportunities, sports and adventure training and healthcare

Exploring your young person's options at PwC: Parent insight session - Thursday 17 October 5:30pm-6:30pm

During this webinar you can find our more about PwC's school and college leaver programmes and the career opportunities available to students at PwC. You'll hear their student recruiters provide an overview of each of their opportunities and share insights into the stages of their application process. 

Whether students want to gain work experience, complete an apprenticeship, undertake a sponsored degree of they're simply feeling a bit unsure about their next steps, this session will help you explore the range of opportunities available to them. You'll also have the opportunity to ask all your questions to each of their regional school leads in order to help you best support your young person.
